Guestbook

Share your favorite Stuckey’s memory! Our guestbook is your opportunity to share those experiences with others.

Just about everybody has a Stuckey‘s story, recalling a time when they took road trips in the family station wagon and found “highway happiness” at one of our stores.

We would love to hear your most fond memories from yesterday or today, and we know others would love to share in your experiences as well. Please take a moment or two and post your comments in our guestbook.

Back when I worked for Canal Barge Co of Natchez MS in the late seventies/early eighties, we had a headstrong cook named Ida Mae Stuckey; She was a great cook & a big talker; Word was that she was divorced from the Stuckey’s founder; I remember the good days of Stuckeys, as I was born 1/1950 @ Clarksville TN; I have driven 3 million miles all around our country in the last 28 years, passing by many Stuckey’s stores; Occasionally I buy pecan logs @ truck fueling stops that carry your products; Glad to see Stephanie keeping the legacy going... My husband and I through the years of traveling always stopped at a Stuckey's in North Georgia. We had many favorites. Yesterday a dear friend and neighbor of 30 years called, Beth Lamar Monfort, and told me her brother, Bob's son, RG Lamar was reopening Stuckey's. She gave me website and here I am. I am looking over the stock and thinking of what I will order first. I am so thrilled. I am 84 now, a widow, so don't travel much. I will order and have it shipped. Thank you for bringing back an old favorite. You are appreciated.

Stuckey's was a place both my sister & I could not wait to stop at as kids in the backseat of the car when my parents would travel from Spokane, Wa. To Tucson , AZ. to visit my Grandparents. Back in the 70s you would find Stuckey’s off the main Highway s or close to truck stops. The white chocolate covered pretzels was the Family favorite so much so that I recall sometimes after stopping my Dad would stop to get a box of them and about 30 minutes later we’d hear ,” who the hell are all the dam... I've regrettably only been to Stuckey's once (so far) and that visit was unplanned. In the summer of 1969 our family left our-then home of St. Paul, Minn. en route to visiting relatives in New England. We left early in the morning headed east on I-94. Just over the Wisconsin line our car's radiator began to act funny, so we stopped at the nearest gas station, which just happened to be a Stuckey's in Baldwin WI. We were there about half an hour, and I don't recall us sampling any pecan rolls or anything like that. But it was long... Read more

But it was long enough to get a feel for the place, and I've always wanted to make a return visit. I'm now in Springfield IL, which, long before I moved here, had a Stuckey's just south of town on I-55 (and the old route 66). I hope they come back. Kudos to Stephanie for her tireless efforts to revive the family business and her appreciation of this part of Americana.... Collapse

I was born and raised in a small farming community in central Kansas. In 1959 we traveled to California to visit my Aunt. During our drive, we frequently saw Stuckey's along the roadside and Dad stopped for gas and treats as often as possible. I will never forget this trip and Stuckey's made the long trip extra special. To this day, I still look forward to a pecan log roll and pecan turtles. (Dad's favorites). Every time I have these wonderful sweets, I remember that road trip and the great vacation we all had! As a child in the '60s, my family would take road vacations, 2 weeks a year, across the country. In those days, if memory serves, most Stuckeys were about a gas tank apart. As we share the name, our dad made a point of stopping at every Stuckeys we saw for cold drinks and treats. We thought this was marvelous. As I recall, you used to get a pecan log or divinity with a fillup. These were rationed by our mom as we headed down the road towards the next Stuckeys. These were wonderful times.

Back in the 60's, highway 66 was our path to fun on vacations. We map out all the Stuckeys along the way. We had a 65 Mercury Monterey 4 door. Stuckeys pecan pralines were the bomb! Always bought some at the checkout cashiers. Enough Squirt and pralines to carry us to the next Stuckey's! Thanks for all the great memories...

It was a different world when my grandparents would take my sister, only girl cousin & I to the reservation in North Carolina from Mableton, GA. We’d have so many quilts & pillows piled up in the back of Grandaddy’s 1970 Chevy truck with the camper top & roll out windows. Our favorite part of the trip was going to Stuckey’s because we would get $5 each to spend. Hey, it was like 1978 so it was a big deal 🤭 I wish I still had one of the dozens of Native American plastic dolls I bought on those trips.

At one point Stuckey’s was owned by Pet Inc., where my grandpa worked. When we were on road trips we visited every single Stuckey’s on our trail. Grandpa would announce to the passengers “here comes Stuckey’s!” and we’d pull off to enjoy the fare. Thank you for revitalizing your brand!

I grew up visiting Stuckey's as a kid. My Mom would stop all the time as we traveled each summer. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. The last time I was at one my children were young and we were traveling with my husband who was a truck driver. I had him to stop I wanted to show my kids what a Stucke';s was like and what I remember as a child. It was so much fun I miss that now.

Back as far as I can Remember, once a year our family would travel from Virginia to Texas to see our relatives, and along the way we would stop at several Stuckey's during the summer. Fueled the Car, and Fueled our stomach's on the delicious treats.

Once a month in the 1970's we would visit my Aunt & Uncle in North Carolina. Leaving our home in Virginia it was a long trip in the back seat with only my comic books & soda pop. But as soon as we saw the Stuckeys sign it was time to get snacks. Usually I got the famous pecan log. Best memories ever.
