Guestbook

Share your favorite Stuckey’s memory! Our guestbook is your opportunity to share those experiences with others.

Just about everybody has a Stuckey‘s story, recalling a time when they took road trips in the family station wagon and found “highway happiness” at one of our stores.

We would love to hear your most fond memories from yesterday or today, and we know others would love to share in your experiences as well. Please take a moment or two and post your comments in our guestbook.

I’m currently on a road trip to say goodbye to my mom. Growing up, we moved across the country more times than I can count—from Maine to California and so many states in between. So somehow, it feels fitting that this final journey is by road. One thing I remember from almost every move was stopping at Stuckey’s. It didn’t matter where we were headed—she always had to stop, and she always got a pecan log. Today, I found a Stuckey’s and stopped for the first time in years. I bought two pecan logs—one for me and one for her.

Mt.Comfort Indiana. I was a snack bar girl when I was 16 to 19 years old, ending in 1980. My brother also worked here manning the front desk and pumping gas. It became a home away from home and all us employees felt like family. I'll never forget my time here. Frying Big Rig burgers, fries and making milkshakes, homemade egg salad and pimento cheese. I learned responsible and work ethic. I poured my share of coffee. Ten cents for a large and five cents for a small. Those where the days! The scent of log rolls and candy always... Read more

The scent of log rolls and candy always filled the store while nostalgic cat tails wagged on the cat clocks of many colors that filled the wall. Souvenirs of every kind remains a dear memory to this day. Some representing our state and coon skin caps, cap guns and rubber snakes for the kiddos. You learned to hustle especially when a bus pulled in. I met and served Rosy Greer, the football player as well as several more celebrities. Everyone stopped in Stuckey's and treated just as well as the celebrities. Business men, families, those touring to a specific destination and the daily locals coming for breakfast, coffee and conversation with other locals who were retirees, schoolbus drivers and farmers, it was always the place to pull into. Stuckey's represented travelers, families and community. So, Stuckey's remains part of me, my growing up, my maturing and my memories will always be held dearly. I treasure my growing up under the turquoise roof.... Collapse

Seeing a Stuckey’s sign always meant a treat for all of us. We the parents got candied pecans or peanuts, our daughters always got rainbow taffy. We would enjoy these treats as we drove from Arkansas to Arizona.

Nearly 30 years ago we began visiting the OBX, while grocery shopping I found Stuckeys Pecans. Upon returning home I couldn't find them anywhere and NO Other brand measured up to Stuckeys. Every year I look forward to picking up some while on vacation, and always manage to bring some home. Thanks for continuing to make them, they're so very delicious and I just wanted you to know! Just recalled all of the trips to Florida from PA in the 50s. Staying at HOWARD JOHNSONS and stopping at Stuckeys all the way..pecan logs were grandma's favorite. Learned to drive in her 1957 Buick sedan through GA. Stopping by her direction to Stuckeys and Howard JOHNSONS for ice cream 31 flavors of course. Loved it as well as Tennessees Teddy Bare Motel ... Thank you very much for those memories....

Growing up in Texas, and taking road trips in the 1960’s and 1970’s we would travel to Ohio mostly to visit my Grandparents. My siblings and I would start seeing the billboard signs for STUCKEYS, and start counting the mile markers. Seemed like it took forever to get there. Then we would see the STUCKEYS STORE. IT WAS SO VERY EXCITING.!!!! Thank you for great memories.

When I was 12 years old my Aunt Joyce took my sister and I on a road trip from New Orleans to the West Coast. While I enjoyed Disneyland my favorite memories was the Alamo, walking across the Rio Grande in El Paso , the desert of New Mexico and Arizona and never passing up a Stuckey's and getting a "date" malt. I never realized that years later I would get the chance to work with Bill Stuckey as a young banker at Bank South in Atlanta. Keep up the great work.
