Guestbook

Share your favorite Stuckey’s memory! Our guestbook is your opportunity to share those experiences with others.

Just about everybody has a Stuckey‘s story, recalling a time when they took road trips in the family station wagon and found “highway happiness” at one of our stores.

We would love to hear your most fond memories from yesterday or today, and we know others would love to share in your experiences as well. Please take a moment or two and post your comments in our guestbook.

OMG... I used to look forward to our family vacations to visit family down south. I would sit and anxiously wait to see my favorite place, Stuckey's, and then I was like a kid in a candy store. The pecan rolls were sweet perfection. Loved the hot apple cider and al l the other souvenirs. Everything was so nostalgic and cute. What fun we used to have. Such fond memories.

Back in the 60s and through the mid-70s my family would take a two-week vacation out west before school started. No vacation would be complete unless we stopped at a Stuckey's (or two or three). We'd see a billboard for the next Stuckey's and with great anticipation we'd anxiously wait to see the familiar turquoise-signature Stuckey's roof. Of course, we always got a Pecan Log and some divinity with each visit. We also collected glass animal sets and could always find a new set to add to our collection. I still have the glass animal sets. I will always treasure... Read more

My best friend/sister from the heart’s mom, Ms Elva Lee, was THE Mr Stuckey’s personal secretary for over 30 yrs. Many precious memories of going in the candy plant watching all the candies being made by hand. Also remember how generous Mr Stuckey was to everyone, especially us kids. Also, every Sunday am before Sunday School and church services, another special friend, Jennie, and her dad would pick me up promptly (mid 1960s) at 9am before SS at 10am. We would go to Stuckey’s for breakfast which consisted of bbq Fritos and a small Coca Cola over ice. We would... Read more

Fond, wonderful, dear and cherished memories that no one or time can erase. Living in Eastman, Ga, Dodge County, HOME OF STUCKEY’S FINE PECAN CANDIES was nothing shy of pure pleasure and a dreamland. And BTW, it is Pee-can, the correct pronunciation of the famous Stuckey’s Pecans. 😍😍... Collapse

I grew up in Florida and I've always loved Stuckey's. In the 1990's, I would go home to visit from Baltimore, where I live now and always stop at the Stuckey's in Bushnell. I play music for a living and was always talking about Stuckey's and using my Stuckey's cup when playing my gigs. My drummer told me he wanted some pecan rolls and people donated money for me to get them on my next trip home. I brought him back two pecan rolls and everyone wanted him to play drums with them. so.....................he did!!! then we took a break... Read more

My memories of Stuckey's as a child was that we saw them practically EVERYWHERE, as we always traveled by car for family trips/vacations. We always knew that the blue roof with the oblong type building was a Stuckey's location. My dad LOVED the pecan roll and we would usually stop, at least once a trip to one of the locations in Illinois, Missouri, Iowa or Indiana. Over the years, lots of the locations have closed or disappeared, but the memories are great ones. As children, we always loved to see what was going to be given out as a sample,... Read more

My family (mom, Daddy, older brother, younger brother and I) always took a summer vacation as my mom was a school teacher and Daddy was management in retail. We lived in Abilene, TX and then moved to Albuquerque, NM. We traveled the southwest seeing all the sights. Every time we saw the sign showing how many more miles to Stuckey's, my brothers and I would yell 'STUCKEY'S' and always as loud as we could and as high pitched as we could. My mom and dad would (usually) laugh as we knew we would definitely be stopping. Each time we stopped,... Read more

We would all get something refreshing to drink and Daddy would always get a milkshake. I have such fond memories of those adventures. I am 64 now, and the only remaining member of the 5. In the late 60’s my husband and I were traveling from N Mississippi to South Georgia. No air conditioned for us, then. I had very long curly hair and in July it could look pretty awful. This was one of those days, not to mention wrinkled clothes and sweat. We went into a Stuckys and as I hurried to the restroom I heard him say to the clerk in a loud whisper “I picked this poor girl up hitch hiking and she looks hungry so give her anything she want, I’ll pay for it. As a kid living in Ct we would drive to Miami Fl every summer to visit “the cousins”. My sisters and I would be sitting in the backseat of the car counting cars snd singing until we saw the road signs for Stuckeys Ahead ! Gosh we couldn’t wait to see what the next sign would show. We would always stop, we were first to use the restroom and then we could look around the gift shop while Dad was getting the gas. Grama always bought a few Pecan log rolls. We couldn’t wait till we stopped for the night to get a slice of it. Mmm I still remember that first taste of the pecans on the outside ( I’d eat those off first ) then bite into that creamy nought. It was the best taste of summer. I sent some to my sister for Christmas last year. She called me to reminisce about our Stuckey pecan log roll summers. Thank you for the wonderful memories.... Hello, I remember traveling with my parents from Texas to Arkansas back in the 1970s on vacation....it was a very special time....whenever my Dad needed to get gasoline for our car, he would say keep your eyes peeled for a nearby gas station....so I would look for one and my Mom would too....then we both saw the bright and colorful Stuckeys sign along the highway....get gas and receive a free pecan log....clean restrooms too....so we said Dad let's go there excitedly....so Dad obliged us by stopping....the friendly gas station attendant came out and greeted us....Mom and I went inside to... Family road trips in a station wagon were usually long and boring but my Mom had a thing for Stuckey's pecan logs so we knew once Stuckey's came in to sight we were in for a treat. We would all rush to play the peg jump game with our Dad. My would get her stash which she would dole out the rest of the trip and we'd would repeat on the way home.

Every couple years or so, my family would drive to Florida. It seemed that as soon as we got south of the Chicago area, we would start to see Stuckeys. The familiar yellow, red and blue signs dotted the landscape on our way and was sort of a "rite of passage" on our journey.

My family and I would frequent stops to Stuckey’s on our way to Florida. At a young age, I was always fascinated with their traditional pecan log rolls; more than just eating. I would use my Dad’s micro woodworking tools and actually hollow out the insides of the pecan log roll, until all of the goodness was out of them. Then, I would carefully cut out holes from one side and in the end, make music recorders and flute-like instruments from them. Not only for eating, but pretty sounds too! Then, I would carefully cut out holes from one side and in the end, make music recorders and flute-like instruments from them. Not only for eating, but pretty sounds too! I found out years later, after growing up and marrying my wife, Melissa, that she liked to use the yummy, creamy center of the log rolls as a facial cream additive for filling an old open pit sore on her ear lobe, after her younger brother, Chris, bit her ear lobe tip off when he got mad at her; they’d been dancing to some Milli Vanili song. Great memories!... Collapse

When I was a kid we stopped at Stuckeys from South Texas to St Louis. I remember we called it "STOOK-ees" not "STUCK-ees." And we were so happy when dad would need a FULL tank of gas because then we'd get the pecan log.
