Guestbook

Share your favorite Stuckey’s memory! Our guestbook is your opportunity to share those experiences with others.

Just about everybody has a Stuckey‘s story, recalling a time when they took road trips in the family station wagon and found “highway happiness” at one of our stores.

We would love to hear your most fond memories from yesterday or today, and we know others would love to share in your experiences as well. Please take a moment or two and post your comments in our guestbook.

Family road trips in a station wagon were usually long and boring but my Mom had a thing for Stuckey's pecan logs so we knew once Stuckey's came in to sight we were in for a treat. We would all rush to play the peg jump game with our Dad. My would get her stash which she would dole out the rest of the trip and we'd would repeat on the way home.

Every couple years or so, my family would drive to Florida. It seemed that as soon as we got south of the Chicago area, we would start to see Stuckeys. The familiar yellow, red and blue signs dotted the landscape on our way and was sort of a "rite of passage" on our journey.

My family and I would frequent stops to Stuckey’s on our way to Florida. At a young age, I was always fascinated with their traditional pecan log rolls; more than just eating. I would use my Dad’s micro woodworking tools and actually hollow out the insides of the pecan log roll, until all of the goodness was out of them. Then, I would carefully cut out holes from one side and in the end, make music recorders and flute-like instruments from them. Not only for eating, but pretty sounds too! I found out years later, after growing up and marrying... Read more

I found out years later, after growing up and marrying my wife, Melissa, that she liked to use the yummy, creamy center of the log rolls as a facial cream additive for filling an old open pit sore on her ear lobe, after her younger brother, Chris, bit her ear lobe tip off when he got mad at her; they’d been dancing to some Milli Vanili song. When I was a kid we stopped at Stuckeys from South Texas to St Louis. I remember we called it "STOOK-ees" not "STUCK-ees." And we were so happy when dad would need a FULL tank of gas because then we'd get the pecan log.

When we were kids, we drove from San Antonio to St. Louis frequently to visit family. The overwhelming highlight of the trip was the pecan log at Stuckey's. We would take I35 most of the way and I think there were at least two stores, one in Texas one in Oklahoma. For some reason I remember that you got the pecan log free with a fill up but don't know whether that is a real memory or not. I do remember we did get the candy and there was nothing better. My family was sad when the last Stuckey's closed... Read more

They will certainly be on my Christmas list this year.... Collapse

My parents Clarence & Mary Law were both born and raised in Eastman, Dodge Co. Ga. They moved to Edgewood Md where 4 of the 5 children were born/raised. Every year our summer vacation meant loading up and traveling to Eastman to visit Grandparents mind you that this was 4 children in a vehicle on a 12/14 hour ride and my dad was not one to stop often but when we would see a Stuckey's it was like our prayers had been answered 😂 not only did we get to stretch and use their clean restroom but we were allowed... It breaks my heart to see the original store and candy plant just sitting and falling apart also one of the Stuckey homes which is absolutely gorgeous just sitting empty and deteriorating 😢! I am soo soo happy that you are bringing the Stuckey's that so many of us have such great memories of back! It’s somewhere that I hope to be able to share with my grandchildren one day when we travel and I plan on being able to share with them on how we are related and some good old divinity and pecan log rolls 🤗... I was among the very fortunate to be raised in Eastman, Dodge Co, Ga, HOME OF STUCKEY’s and my very best friend’s mom was Mr Stuckey’s personal secretary for over 30 years. We spent many days in the Stuckey’s candy plant enjoying the “samples” of all the delicious candies made. It was a fairy tale childhood and made complete because of Stuckey’s and the Stuckey family tradition. Please support Stephanie and her Stuckey family as they bring back the good old days of Stuckey’s.

As a HS student in 1968-1970, I worked in a Stuckeys store at the snack bar! It was located in the small town of New Lisbon, WI along the interstate highway system 90/94. What wonderful memories! My boyfriend (who became my husband) worked there also. We are retired now & hope to do some traveling now that COVID restrictions are easing up. Glad to hear that Stuckeys has grown again & hope to find one soon! We did not get fine china when we married....bought my Frankoma pottery dishes from our Stuckeys store so always have sweet memories!

As a child in the 70s, my immediate family did a fair amount of trips between Billings, MT, where we lived at the time, and Spokane, WA, where my folks grew up and where many in my extended family still live. Early memories included stops at either or both of the 2 Stuckey's stores that were on that leg of I-90. Stuckey's, for kids, always was a treat! Candy and/or toys from Stuckey's could be a good diversion for us kids who were missing our cousins and grandparents on our departure for home. Recently, my husband and I had to... Read more

Candy and/or toys from Stuckey's could be a good diversion for us kids who were missing our cousins and grandparents on our departure for home. Recently, my husband and I had to drive back to Georgia from Spokane, and I tried to identify any remnants of either of the old Stuckey's buildings (I couldn't remember their exact locations), but alas, was not successful. I am glad to see the loving care being taken to bring Stuckey's back to the roadsides.... Collapse

We got married in Macon on a Saturday in September, 1966. Our original plan was to honeymoon at Jekyll Island, but our car broke down in Cochran. After a lot of worry, my father came to Cochran, loaned us his car, and towed the broken one home. It was much too late to get to Jekyll, but we did make it to Eastman, where we spent our wedding night at the Stuckey's Carriage Inn. We got the Bridal Suite, and the people at Stuckey's couldn't have been any nicer. We are still married 54 years later and still remember Stuckey's... Read more

A few families on my mothers' side moved down from E. Texas to Orange, TX during WW2 to help/work for the war effort. Mother and her cousin Roxie married 2 sailors who came in on ships. Roxie stayed in Orange after the war and mother and daddy moved to Houston. We would go to Orange when I was a child to visit. The highlight of the trips for me was getting to stop at Stuckeys and get candy. When they came to Houston, they would bring candy to us. Stuckeys will always be a part of my childhood memories.

I was first introduced to Stuckey’s in the late 60’s and/or early 70’s. I remember my dad and I would travel South on I-75 from Chicago, IL to Orlando, Florida on our way to WDW at Christmas time during the break from school and I remember all the Blue roofs. We would stop and get a bite to eat and Candy of course. I Still Love Stuckey’s today and since there aren’t any near me I order Pecan Log Rolls online. I’m glad Stuckey’s is making a come back!
